Avoid double bookings

I read a post on the breastfeeding community the other day about a woman who regularly reserves her company's conference room to pump and one day there was a mix-up in the scheduling. Two tech guys were in there doing some repairs when she came in to use the room. She told them she had reserved it and they apologized. They asked her if their stuff would be in her way, and she said, "No, all I need is a chair and an outlet." They said, "Do you mind then, if we stay? We're in the middle of this ..." She said she didn't mind if they didn't, but then took a second to explain to them that she would be pumping breastmilk for her baby. They shot out of there at like 100 miles an hour!

Now, if her business had cool software that helps you schedule conference rooms, then the double booking would never have happened. Think of all the embarrassment that would have been avoided. This software also helps with NetSimplicity Asset Tracking, scheduling of equipment and catering. You can use it to keep track of company items like laptops that get checked in and out. That way you always know who has what and when its due back. Whether you are the boss of a big business or are just an employee who is frustrated with the way things are run now, you should take a look and see if this product can help you avoid misunderstandings and lost items in the future.

I laughed when I read this - and I linked to it from my other blog: Beth & Cory's Mom.

hilariously, i found the link from there, instead of from this comment. i happened to be on blogger today (i rarely write over there but am trying to change that and saw your comment, didnt' know who you were, looked you up, realized you were you, clicked your blog and saw your post and clicked over to my own lj!

ha ha ha! how's that for crazy?

i'm wanting to do ppp over there too, but the blog isn't old enough AND i don't post enough. So I have to get to work if I want it to get approved. Right now I use it for more thoughtful stuff than I would normally put on lj.

I have blogs all over the place. I don't necessarily use them, I just sign up for everything! When I found PPP, I had let the one over at Blogger lapse, so there was a gap of more than 30 days. I decided I better start using it again so it would qualify for PPP, so I did and got it approved at the beginning of this month. It helps to have more than one. You can take more opps, or they exclude livejournal blogs from opps, but you can qualify if you have a blog somewhere else.

I'm trying to figure out if I want to work on another one now.

the link you put up for me from there doesn't seem to be picking up from anywhere though ...

maybe try putting the actual address instead of the cool href kind? or just adding another link too? i dunno ...

i'd really love for it to count toward my PR ...

i can link your other blogs too, from here and my blogger account if you give me all the names of the ones you want linked.

I don't know where all you were looking. Technorati took a couple days to update. Even though PPP doesn't use that any more, it's still cool to look at. For a while there they weren't getting my blogger blog at all. Are there other good places to find your stats? I haven't figured Alexa out yet. It looks like the stats are just for LiveJournal or Blogspot in general.

If you link to the Beth & Cory's Mom blog, that would be great!

OK, i'll probably put it up sometime tomorrow. i'm going to ask if anyone else is interested too and put them in one post.

i do look at technorati because its the only place i can see any progress. but now, i found this new place, the place that ppp actualy uses. you can see how close you are to going up in rank ...

yay!!!!!

I have to tell you - I checked that site to see what my rankings were and found out that my blogspot blog is a PR3! I didn't know that. I don't really know why it's a PR3, but I'll take it. The my blogs tab on PPP did not reflect the rankings at all. It still said N/A. Then I found out that the rankings have not been updating properly, so I submitted a ticket and they manually updated it. Now I'm seeing more opps, but most of them are grabbed and gray like always. :( It's still a matter of being in the right place at the right time.
